Printed carton board packaging for retail shelves, delivery and gifting — tuck-end, crash-lock, sleeve-and-tray and auto-bottom styles, with the dieline built around your product size and its weight. Cream board and kraft are the usual starting points, and heavier grades are used for premium boxes.

Service Explained
What Is Professional Packaging Printing?
Packaging printing is two jobs in one: building a structure that carries, protects and stacks your product, and printing the design that sells it from the shelf. The structure comes first — the artwork is laid over the dieline, not the other way round.
That is why dimensions, product weight and how the packaging travels matter more than the picture on the front. Board thickness, flute direction and where the carton is creased decide whether a box arrives intact or bulges on the pallet.
Structural drawings, dielines, sampling, printing and die-cutting are handled as one production flow.
Common Packaging Problems
Why Does Custom Packaging Fail in Transit?
Packaging rarely fails because of the print. It fails because the board was too light for the weight, the flute direction was wrong for the load, the crease cracked on a coated sheet, or the carton was sized to the artwork instead of the product.
A structure drawing and a white sample catch almost all of this before a single sheet is printed.
Board Too Light
A carton sized only by artwork bulges or splits once the product and stacking weight are added.
Cracked Creases
Solid ink coverage on a coated sheet cracks along the fold unless it is creased and scored correctly.
Wrong Flute Direction
Corrugated sheets carry load along the flutes — run the wrong way, a mailer collapses under a stack.
Food Contact Compliance
Printing on the face that touches food, or using the wrong liner, is a compliance problem as well as a quality one.

Blister cards, hang tabs and shelf-ready packs sized for planogram space.
Right-sized mailers, tissue, void fill and seal stickers that travel safely and open well.
Product labels, tamper seals and closure stickers printed to match the packaging.

The Process
How Our Packaging Printing Process Works
Structure first, print second — a repeatable six-step flow from product dimensions to packed-flat delivery.
Product dimensions, weight, quantity, use and deadline are confirmed.
A structural drawing and dieline are produced for the size, weight and stacking.
A sample is assembled so fit, folds, closures and inserts are checked.
Artwork is positioned on the dieline and approved as a proof.
The run is printed on the board or corrugated sheet specified.
Sheets are die-cut, creased, glued and packed flat for delivery.
Board & Finishing
Board Grades and Finishes for Packaging
The board decides how the pack protects the product, how it folds and how premium it feels in the hand. These are the grades and finishes used most often.
Kraft & Recycled Board
Natural brown board with a warm, recyclable look — food packaging, retail cartons and brands that lead on sustainability.
Coated Carton Board
Smooth white board that carries colour and photography sharply — the standard for retail and cosmetic cartons.
Corrugated Board
Fluted board that carries weight and absorbs knocks — mailers, shippers and protective inner packaging.
Rigid Greyboard
Thick board wrapped in printed paper for premium gift, tech and jewellery boxes that hold their shape.
Food-Grade & Barrier Board
Board with a grease-resistant, PE or compostable liner for direct food contact, printed with food-safe inks on the outer face.
Why It Matters
Why Does Packaging Quality Matter?
Packaging is the only piece of marketing a customer physically handles, opens and keeps. It also has to survive the journey to them without the product inside paying for it.
Product Protection
The right board, flute direction and insert keep the product intact in transit and on the shelf.
Shelf Presence
Colour, finish and structure decide whether the pack is picked up or passed over.
Cost Per Unit
Sizing the pack to the product cuts board, freight volume and damage claims.

Structure Guide
Which Packaging Structure Fits Your Product?
The right structure follows the product's weight, fragility and how it is sold. Use this comparison as a starting point.
| Structure | Best For | Board | Key Consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Folding Carton | Retail, pharma, cosmetics, confectionery | 250–400 gsm coated or kraft | Creasing must be set for solid ink coverage so folds do not crack |
| Corrugated Mailer | E-commerce, sample kits, subscription boxes | E-flute corrugated | Flutes should run so the box carries the stacking load |
| Rigid Gift Box | Premium sets, jewellery, tech, gifting | 1.5–3 mm greyboard + wrap | Wrap paper and assembly add the unit cost — perfect for low volumes |
| Food & Takeaway Carton | Restaurants, bakeries, cloud kitchens | Food-grade kraft or lined board | Grease and heat resistance decide the liner, not the artwork |
| Printed Paper Bag | Boutiques, events, retail handovers | 120–180 gsm kraft or white | Handle type and bag weight must suit the load it carries |
| Sleeve & Tray | Multipacks, jars, promotional packs | 300–350 gsm carton board | Cheapest way to change packaging for a promotion or flavour |

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Packaging Printing
Direct answers about structures, dielines, samples, board, food contact, quantities, finishing and lead times.
Folding cartons, corrugated mailer and shipper boxes, rigid gift and luxury boxes, food and takeaway cartons, printed paper bags, sleeves, trays and die-cut inserts. Anything built from board, corrugated sheet or paper can be produced from a structural drawing and a dieline.
We create it. A structural drawing is prepared from your product dimensions, or an existing dieline is adjusted for a new size, and a white sample is produced so the fit can be checked before artwork is printed.
Yes. A white sample shows the structure, folds and fit, and where the design depends on colour or finishing a one-off printed proof sample can be produced. Only after approval does the full run go to press.
Food-grade carton board with a grease-resistant or PE-lined inner surface is used for food cartons, and food-safe inks are specified with no printing on the contact face. Heavier takeaway items use food-grade corrugated or lined board.
Short runs are printed digitally from a few hundred pieces for folding cartons, sleeves and bags, while corrugated and rigid boxes become more economical in volume because of the die cost. The quantity that gives the best unit price is quoted alongside the smaller runs.
Matt or gloss lamination, soft-touch film, spot UV, metallic foiling, embossing and debossing, window patching, and die-cut handles or cut-outs. Finishing is chosen to protect the print in transit as well as to look right on shelf.
Yes. Barcodes, QR codes, batch numbers, serials and expiry fields can be printed inline, and short runs allow several variants — flavours, sizes or regions — in a single order without separate plates.
Once artwork and the dieline are approved, folding cartons, sleeves and bags typically take a few working days, and corrugated or rigid boxes take longer because of die-making, mounting and assembly. Timing is confirmed with the quotation, and express slots are available for launches.
