Windows are the only surface that customers look through to see a business. Window graphics handle three jobs at once: they carry branding, provide privacy, and stop reflections washing out the shop. This guide covers frosted films, printed window graphics and perforated one-way view film.
The Three Window Graphic Types
- Frosted / white film - translucent privacy that lets light through without the view.
- Printed window graphics - full-colour branding in any shape, from logos to full-window scenes.
- Perforated one-way film - printed dots that show the graphic outside and let occupants see out.
Which Window Job, Which Film
| Goal | Recommended product |
|---|---|
| Office privacy | Frosted film with logo |
| Storefront branding | Perforated or printed vinyl |
| Stop sun glare | Solar film + frosted accents |
| Showcase products | Clear film with edge graphics |
| Temporary promo | Removable window vinyl |
Privacy Without Darkness: Perforation
Perforated film is printed with dot matrix holes. Looking from outside, it reads as a solid graphic; from inside, the dots let near-full vision out. It is the standard for street-facing shops that want branding and daylight together.
Perforation slightly dims the view from inside. For windows where staff need flawless vision, consider top-section graphics only, with frosted or clear below.
Design Rules for Windows
Keep 80% or more of the window clear to invite people in. Place branding at standing eye height, leave the lower band open for display, and never cover the entire glass - a fully wrapped window reads as a closed shop.
Installation, Durability and Removal
Films are installed with water application and a squeegee pass; allow a day for small jobs, more for full-storefront work. With laminated prints, interior films last 3-5 years and exterior-facing films 2-4 years in Riyadh sun. Removable media lifts cleanly at lease end.

Removable-grade window vinyl peels off cleanly and can sometimes be re-applied once. Permanent films need solvent removal and a clean of residual adhesive.
Frosted film runs SAR 80-200 per m2, printed vinyl SAR 100-250 per m2, and perforated film SAR 150-300 per m2, plus installation - a standard shopfront window typically totals SAR 500 to 2,500.
